Yoga is an integration of body, mind and spirit. Coming from the Sanskrit root "yuj" which means to yoke or join, yoga harmonizes the various aspects of our being. This yoking also relates to understanding our inter-connection with others and the universe around us.  Yoga is an ancient discipline that  includes ethical practices, postures (asana), breathing (pranayama), concentration, meditation and absorption (samadhi).

Practicing yoga builds strength, increases flexibility and focuses the mind.  An excellent complement to sports, yoga encourages a full range of motion, better balance and alignment, helping prevent injury. We become energized, cleansing impurities, promoting circulation, relaxation and well-being.  Yoga is much more than a physical work-out, it is an opportunity to be mindful and present in the moment. A chance to observe our minds & bodies and cultivate non-reactive, non-judgemental attitudes that lead us to experiences of freedom.
